Mold Remediation

Mold remediation is a multi-step process that not just focuses on mold removal but also the cause of the outbreak and prevention of future outbreaks. This is how mold remediation is carried out:

Step#1 – Inspection:

We will search every inch of your building for any signs of mold. Also, experts will take air samples to determine what type of mold it is based on the airborne spores and what the spore count is to get an idea of the extent of contamination. Mold inspection and air samples will help experts determine the best course of action.

Step#2 – Containment:

All rooms or areas where there is mold will be sealed off to prevent the mold from spreading to other areas. Mold containment can be done in various ways. For example, in some cases, physical barriers are put up with negative air chambers and negative air pressure. In contrast, simpler means can be shutting down all fans, heaters, and cooling systems that may be circulating air (and thereby spores) throughout the structure.

Step#3 – Air Filtration:

As long as there are active spores in the air, the mold will keep coming back, so we use high-efficiency air filters that are placed in your HVAC unit to rid your home or office of all spores. If there are high containment levels, we might even use special HEPA-filtered vacuums to remove spores that have settled onto a surface.

Step#4 – Mold Cleanup:

Antimicrobial and antifungal substances are used to clean existing mold colonies to prevent further mold growth. The mold cleanup method we use depends on where mold is growing. For example, hard, non-porous surfaces like bathtubs and sinks can be cleaned simply by wiping and adding a safe and approved biocide. On the other hand, porous surfaces like walls, wooden floors, and carpets with deeper mold growth need to be replaced.

Step#5 – Sanitize:

The last step is focused solely on preventing future mold infestations. Everything inside your commercial or residential structure, including furniture, curtains, and other items need to be sanitized. We use fogging equipment to deodorize your belongings and the air inside your home or commercial unit.
